Update of African Horse Sickness

PART 2

ALL MEMBERS PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

There has been a death at Panorama Stud (along the R44 area towards Paarl) (yesterday afternoon).

QUARANTINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO:

North of the N1, from Klipheuwel Road,

its basically EVERYONE from AFTER the boundary of Sandringham Farm towards Paarl.

Including the R304 and all current quarantine remains,

The State Vet has not given any date as to when they will lift the quarantine status

As from this morning, there are four confirmed deaths.

We are now looking at a possibility of NO movement from either the Free Zone or Surveillance Zone.

There will be a Press Release in the Late edition of the Argus.

I would like to remind Members that Douglas Welsh is willing to come down to Cape Town

to give a presentation on African Horse Sickness and all the information regarding the care of

your horses to reduce the risk

To date I have only received 20 replies (?!) of interested parties.

Please send me an e-mail if you are interested.

Regards
