There will be a
press release tomorrow, the State Vet is waiting for it to be signed off by
the Minister of Agriculture, Western Cape, as soon as I have it I will
forward it on to everyone (they will be e-mailing it to me directly).
A NOTICE FROM
THE STATE VET'S OFFICE:
1 The State
Vet will no longer be issuing ANY
Movement Permits.
2 There is
ABSOLUTELY NO movement of
horses / equines allowed INTO, OUT OF OR
WITHIN the Surveillance AND Free Zone
3 This
includes all horse / equines owners in the Southern Suburbs - you are NO
longer allowed to truck for ANYTHING (lessons/clinics/outride's).
THE STATE VET
HAS APPEALED TO ALL HORSE OWNERS TO REMAIN ON THEIR PROPERTY UNTIL FURTHER
NOTICE
I have attached
a copy of the Map of the Free and Surveillance zone.
JOOSTENBERGVLAKTE RESIDENTS:
Your movement
remains as per your permits issued as Joostenbergvlakte is seen as one farm
by the State Vet's office.
This is very
serious and we appeal to everyone to spread the word.
For those who
want to know, we need very cold weather (12 degrees and lower) for at least
a week. (According to the State Vet)
Many thanks,
Merri Spratley
