We have completed a number of projects :
*Mare to foal transfer of passive immunity
* Prophylactic strategies for the control of AHS in KZN
* A study of the Culicoides midge, the vector of AHS
* Development of a molecular diagnostic assay that will cost significantly
less, with results available within a few hours.
* In 2009, a project is being developed that will look at the current early
warning systems and methods of collecting data for AHS cases and outbreaks.
We need your help to get this information in circulation!!
This research is very costly and we have so much more to do and to publish!! The researchers, with the help of the AHS Research Trust, have undertaken their respective projects out of a love for their equine friends and with a sense of urgency to help the situation in South Africa.
