Hi Alan. What nonsense. Shorn of rhetoric and emotion, you do not deal with the facts of the matter at all. You seem to be intent on keeping rumour and innuendo in the public domain. We can all do with less of that in the new South Africa and it is that to which I note my objection.

Fact 1: The facts were provided to you in writing by the GHS exec. These facts are uncontroverted and, to my knowledge, have not even elicited formal comment from the management of the Lippies, notwithstanding the express invitation that they advise us of any factual inaccuracies!

Fact 2: GHS can not simply take over and “own” the Lippies. The horses(in Gauteng and elsewhere, including mares) are the “property” of a registered Section 21 company managed by an independent board of directors!!! To my knowledge(and I have been on the exec for many years)GHS has never been asked by the directors of the Section 21 company to simply take over their business;and that certainly is not the approach taken by the new board of directors.

Fact 3: The premises(part of Kyalami Equestrian Park which falls under GHS’ management and control) were purchased by GHS from SANEF and leased by GHS(the landlord)to the Section 21 company(the tenant) for the Lippies’ use at a monthly rental. It was a commercial transaction. Stop holding out to all and sundry that the financial predicament of the Section 21 company was caused by the exec claiming payment of the rental due to GHS.

Fact 4: The matter insofar as it relates to the breach of the rental agreement and the Lippies’ management’s refusal to pay rent and to the resultant litigation to obtain payment of the debt and eviction of the horses, has got nothing to do with the general public. It is a GHS matter and will be addressed at a special general meeting of members.

Fact 5: GHS has to date not received even the courtesy of being informed of the Section 21 company’s “plans” for the future management of the Lippies, other than what was published on your website(and which provides absolutely no information regarding the anticipated revenue which we all know is required for the horses’ keep). You are surely more than welcome to assist the Lippies’ management(if they require assistance)to approach the general public for sponsorship and ideas to ensure the sustainability of that independent institution, which must necessarily include the due payment of expenses such as rental to GHS and other locations where the horses are kept, feed, vet bills and the like.

Fact 6:You recently started asking payment for adverts, because your business is not a charity. As a member of GHS you should also appreciate that your society is not a charity. GHS operates on funds generated through a membership which expects its elected officials to perform their duty to pursue(after unsuccessful discussions)a claim of such magnitude from a recalcitrant debtor.

Kind regards.

Good Day Sir

Thank you for your e-mail and your comment.

From info provided to me that part of this is with the courts, so I believe that this is where most of the problem is. The point of making it public, well that is the new South Africa which we are all part off.

At this time all I am doing is keeping it public as it is now a public matter.

Ok so you tell me that the property belongs to GHS which then should also own the Lipizzaners as they where part of the property before "THS" got the property and from info which is on the website it was not paid for, but donated, so why the rent?

Then from info sent to me, why will GHS not give the new directors the privilege to responded to all the members?

If I may point out at this time, I do not whish to start a war of wards, but I get the message that every one should butt out and that go's for me to.

So what you are saying I may not ask questions and I may not make things public?

I think it's time that a public meeting be held where all info is placed on the table and every one can not only see, but ask questions.

Thanks

Alan D Munro

Hi Alan. I have purposefully not gotten involved in what has become an unnecessarily public spat about the Lippies. It was however you and others who put the matter in the public domain, whilst GHS were trying, unsuccesfully over a period of many months to engage the management of the Lippies in discussions to resolve the matter “around a table”. Had you read the GHS newsflashes, etc to members(of which you are one) as well as the communication from the GHS exec published by you on your website, you would not ask the rhetorical question regarding ownership of the property-it belongs to GHS and was leased to the company which owns and manages the Lippies, who refuse to pay the rental due and remain in arrears in an amount in excess of R300 000. These are the facts and your question(posed as it is with double ??),does nothing to defuse the emotive responses which seems to fuel your inserts.

Kind regards.
