They Have been Found.
Hi all,
I am so tired right now and not thinking very well but just to let everyone know that Vee and Legend have been found. They are home, bathed and happy.
Vee has had his mane cut off and his tail trimmed. Legend had his tail trimmed. It looks like both of them had work done on their feet. They are quite well fed but with loads of hair off in patches on their face. They were not stressed at all, just kind of confused when they got back. Vee still came and followed me like he always has done. Vee has quite a bad rash on his legs with new scabs from “steekgras”.
So where they have been, who knows! I hope we find out. Thank you to everyone who helped with the search and thank you for the word passed around. My gut feel is that they were going to be sold over the border but became such hot property they couldn’t be sold – so all the mails definitely helped. The manes/tails were cut to make us think that they were taken for racing probably. I really appreciate it and I know the other Philippa does too. At least we can sleep now knowing they are okay.
The biggest thanks of all goes out to the stock theft unit. What amazing people!
Thanks again for all the help and thoughts and ideas and love sent,
Philipa
Help us find Legend and Vee!
Please pass this mail on to anybody you might believe can help or print it and stick it up somewhere.
These two horses were stolen from Hilton Stables on the Birnam Wood road near Howick late Sunday night (27th June ’10) or early Monday morning. The police have opened a case but we need all the help we can get. A reward is offered depending on information received. They are very tame and much loved parts of the family. Legend is now 3 and a half and Vee is 4. They are both Appaloosa geldings.
There is some suspicion that the two horses may have been taken up to Johannesburg to be sold there or exported to Botswana. They may be in a yard somewhere in Gauteng with somebody who does not know that they are stolen.
Anybody who has information can call Claire on 072 459 8263 or 033 330 4449 or Philipa on 0827871899.
Inspector Billy Konstantopoulos is dealing with the case in the stock theft unit and he can be contacted on 0823632323.
Thank you.
Philipa
