We have been finding very harmful foreign objects in our Alzu 12 % Meal!!! This is unacceptable and want to make sure that this stops happening!! Horses will die if this product continues to be sold to the public!!
The rep from Alzu has come around to collect the objects that we found in the feed and has promised to look into it for us and get back to us with some concrete answers...for what that's worth???
Let's see where this ends up. Thanks for the help.

Good Morning Allan
I have a question for you today.
What is the amount of protein that a horse/pony can digest in a days feeding. I have heard by a horse trainer that it would actually be better to give no protein at all because horses can not really digest the protein.
Is this the truth and what kinds of effects will this have on a horse/pony?
Hope you will be able to help me; this will be interesting to know.
Kind Regards,
Elmarie

Hi Hony,
For what it’s worth; we have been told from a nutritionist that we should be careful with using Alzu feeds. According to her Alzu feeds are under new management and the quality of their horse food has gone down. We decided to change, just to be safe.
One of the other stable yards in the area lost one horse to colic and had a few other cases of light colic all with in a couple of days from each other. Only thing that was different was a new bag of Alzu that was opened. They can not prove that it was the feed, but there is the saying; where there is smoke there is normally fire.

Hi Hony,
Just to say on the weekend I found two large nails in my horse's feedbin. They had bits of horse feed stuck on them, so I am thinking they possibly came from his feed. I don't want to mention the feed brand as I don't want legal implications (its not the brand mentioned on your site) but I think, in light of the other feed having had some foreign objects found in it, that I ought to just let horse people know to perhaps sieve through all their feed before feeling it just in case - rather safe than sorry!
Thanks,
Andrea
