Proceeds In aid of the Animal Anti Cruelty League

The organizers and sponsors have pleasure inviting all dog enthusiasts to attend, enjoy  and, where suitable, take part in the Citizen Canine Carnival which will be alive with fun and entertainment  on the bottom arena at the Goldfields Dog of the Year Show on Sunday, 24 August from 8.30 throughout the day. The fun includes the Best Pet Challenge from 11 am in which pet dogs are welcome to participate and Personality Fancy Dress at 2.15 pm for dogs and handlers dressed up to depict their favourite personality in sport, movies, TV, history or whatever.

The Program of events and  Entry Forms are provided herewith and details are given hereunder in regard to the Citizen Agility Challenge and Camel, Horse and Dog Relay

Agility Challenge: The Citizen Agility Challenge on Sunday from 10 to 11 am,  will be by invitation to the leading 20 competitors from the GKC agility event on Saturday.   Enquiries: Bill Middleton, email : maddogbill@mweb.co.za

Camel, Horse and Dog Personality Relay: The final fun event at 2.30pm with Dogs, Horses and Camels will be run as a relay, with the dogs, horses and camels all starting on the whistle, with timekeepers with stop watches for each team and judges to watch out for faults.
Dog Team: 8 or 12 handlers and dogs will go one after the other over an agility non contact course for the competitors who wish to compete.
Horse Team :  4 or 8 horses will go through a gymkhana obstacle course (from Jo’burg Metro Police Equestrian Team).
Camel Team :  4 or 8 camels with handlers and Personality riders will go through a simple obstacle course.
Result: The team which completes the course first with the least faults will be the winners, next best will be second and so on.
Public  Participation in aid of AACL. The public will be invited to make donations to AACL  prior to the start  and to fill in a slip to choose the team they tip to win. At the end there will be a lucky draw and the first correct entry drawn will win the prize. The funds raised will be presented direct to the AACL Guest  of Honor present.

Citizen Photo Competition

Judging and Entry Details: Photo winners are requested to be present at the Arena on Sunday

24 August at 13h00 to receive their award. N.B.  The public are also encouraged to JUDGE the

finalists whose photos will appear in the Citizen on 20 August. Details will be in the Citizen in

Nutriphaseews on Saturday 9 August. Photos must reach The Citizen by 4 pm on Friday 15

 August,  for pre-judging on Monday, 18th August. The  finalists Photos will be published in The

Citizen on Wednesday, 20th August with  PUBLIC JUDGING ENTRY FORMS. The public can

 judge the photos and are required to bring their completed judging forms to the show on Sunday 24

August and place them in the sealed box by 12 noon TO be in the draw for the PRIZE. 

Winners are required to be present at the ARENA when the draw takes place In order

 to win the PRIZE, failing which the next correct entry form with winner present will winl

 If no correct Judging entry is drawn the value of the prize will be donated to Animal Welfare.

 Judging will be by appointed judges whose decision shall be final. No discussions will be entertained.

 Prizes will announced. Make as many entries as you wish.  We thank you for taking part.
