WELLINGTON, Fla., Nov. 27--The jumps
were set up Thursday and finishing
touches were being made to the
racecourse for the Palm Beach
Steeplechase on Saturday.
Bobby Hinton and several work crews
gave up their Thanksgiving day to
set up four brush jumps for the five
steeplechase races that start at
1:30 p.m. Saturday.
More of the 38 horses entered in the
races arrived Thursday at the course
that has been prepared for a
community celebration packed with
entertainment.
Thousands of spectators have bought
tickets for the inaugural Palm Beach
Steeplechase at The Stadium at the
Palm Beach International Equestrian
Center at Southshore Blvd. and
Pierson Rd, in Wellington.
The event kicks off with a Welcome
Party for course crowd in welcoming
th jockeys, owners and trainers and
officials at The Players Club on
Friday evening.
