The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) yesterday rejected the request filed by Irish show jumper Jessica Kurten to temporarily lift her suspension pending the resolution of her appeal before the CAS.

The CAS Panel in charge of the matter said in a statement that they considered the Irish rider did not fulfil the conditions to have her ban provisionally lifted. As a consequence, Jessica Kurten remains suspended until August 6.

The regular CAS appeals procedure will now continue and a hearing will probably take place within the next four weeks.

The appeal refers to a medication case involving Jessica Kurten's horse Castle Forbes Maike, in 2007.
